Designed for Duplo DC-618 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser operators, this resource provides step-by-step instructions for resolving common business card cut inconsistencies, specifically addressing techniques for adjusting gutter cut sizes to correct margin drift and shifting global page positions to ensure precise alignment.
Whether you are correcting variable spacing between individual cards or addressing uniform cut errors across the entire sheet, this Duplo DC-618 guide offers the operational adjustments needed to maintain professional production standards and minimize waste.
- Analyze the Inconsistency
Measure the distance (in mm) from the edge of the business card to the beginning of the first object printed.
Compare this distance between the first and last card on the page to identify if the issue is a progressive gutter drift (the cards are inconsistent relative to one another) or a global alignment error (all cards are 1mm too high or too low). - Adjust Gutter Settings for Progressive Drift
If the cards are inconsistent relative to one another (progressive drift):
1) Determine the difference in measurement between the first and last card.
2) Divide this measurement by the total number of gutter cuts (e.g., 8 gutters).
3) If the bottom card distance is higher, decrease the gutter cut size by the resulting value.
4) If the bottom card distance is lower, increase the gutter cut size by the same value. - Adjust Global Position for Uniform Offsets
If all cards exhibit a uniform shift (e.g., all cards are 1mm too high or too low), adjust the global page position:
1) Navigate to the final screen before saving the job.
2) Locate the graphic on the screen showing the page layout with arrows pointing in four directions (top, bottom, left, right).
3) If the entire cut is too high, click the “bottom” arrow. Each click adjusts the position by 0.1mm (e.g., 10 clicks equals 1mm).
4) If the entire cut is too low, click the “top” arrow for the corresponding adjustment amount.1)
